Is Your Brain Broken? Improve Neuroplasticity
Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to establish new neural connections. The brain and body are constantly reorganizing themselves in order to achieve optimal state. Negative neuroplasticity causes brain fog and memory loss. Positive neuroplasticity improves cognitive function and the brain body connection.
Dr.Heidi Haavik has been researching the effects of chiropractic adjustment on improvement in neuroplasticity. Her research is leading the way in documenting reduction in fall risk with chiropractic are and the effectiveness in improving brain function. Her work at New Zealand Chiropractic College is groundbreaking.
However, the most powerful methods to boost your brain function and healing is through chiropractic care.
Neck Pain -- We've Got You Covered
Neck pain is the single most symptom Many times neck pain from "sleeping wrong" is a sign that the body is in need of tune up. Long term low-grade injuries add up over time. Repetitive stress accumulates and your body will let you know that something is wrong.
There are many structures in the neck that can contribute to neck pain including muscles, spinal bones, ligaments, tendons, blood vessels and nerves. Each of these structures has a unique pain pattern that can usually be determine from a thorough examination. Verification of spinal misalignment is usually confirmed with x-ray studies.
Chiropractic works with neck pain by stimulating the brain and correcting your posture. Improved posture results in better bio-mechanics and less irritation of the affected tissues. There are a variety of techniques to accomplish this from light force instrument corrections to laser therapy to traditional manual adjustments.
Call me at 304-933-9355 to see if we can get to the root of your neck pain. If not, I will gladly refer you to one of my medical colleagues. I'm looking forward to assisting you in returning to life without neck pain.

Weak Immune System? Try Chiropractic
If you want to strengthen your immune system, look no further than to chiropractic. The health benefits go far beyond improving neck and back pain. A review of literature conducted by Dr. Cohn documents "...chiropractic adjustments may have a beneficial effect on the functioning of both the nervous and the immune system." The clinical results achieved with a good portion of my patient base support this as well.
Better Nerve Flow + Better Immune System = Better Overall Health
If you have under consistent chiropractic care, its easy to understand the significant overall health benefits. If you are looking for an alternative to the traditional healthcare system and want true healing from the inside out, give chiropractic a shot. Masking symptoms only works for so long before your real health deteriorates.
The doctors and staff at Enliven Chiropractic will ensure that you receive the best possible care to naturally boost your nervous and immune system.
Is Chiropractic Safe?
I often get the question is chiropractic safe. Very often potential new patients are scared away due to misconceptions and bad information.
The answer is: Yes! Chiropractic is Safe
From a statistical standpoint, spine surgery has a much higher incidence rate of serious side effects at the rate of 1,800 per 1 million versus <1 per 1 million treatments in chiropractic.
My alma mater, Palmer College, has published a lot of research on the safety and effectiveness of Chiropractic. http://www.palmer.edu/clinics/

Gallop Poll Results on Chiropractic Are In
Discover what the newest Gallup poll on chiropractic found out.
Gallop Poll Shows Chiropractic Is Used by Almost Half of Americans
One of the major chiropractic educational institutions, Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, partnered with the Gallup organization to study the use of chiropractic care in our society, and the results are glowingly positive.
Gallup says this is the first time that the behaviors of chiropractic patients have been studied in this detail. They state, “Chiropractic care focuses on neurological and musculoskeletal health, and aims to favorably affect overall health and well-being, relieve pain and infirmity, enhance performance, and improve quality of life without drugs or surgery.”
They discovered that almost half of the US has seen a chiropractor at some time, with 33 million Americans visiting their doctors of chiropractic in the last year. They found that patients are four times more likely to visit a chiropractor for neck or back pain than either a physical therapist or a massage therapist.
Among the 5442 participants in the study, about two thirds of them reported a positive overall impression of chiropractors, with only 11% disagreeing, the rest being neutral. The majority felt that chiropractors were trustworthy and had their patients’ best interests in mind, and less than 10% disagreed with that.
These kinds of research studies show that chiropractors have a great reputation, with high marks in patient satisfaction, ethics and clinical effectiveness. You can visit and refer to Dr. Leonette with confidence – your neighbors do.
Bladder Problems: The Natural Treatment Guide
Bladder problems and urinary incontinence can be treated with chiropractic, strengthening program and alternative medicine system. Our natural treatment guide reviews the nerve system control and management techniques to assist you with bladder problems.
Bladder Problems: The Natural Treatment Guide by Dr. Leonette
Nerve Connection from the Brain to the Bladder
The urinary bladder has a specific function and when that function fails, urinary incontinence often results. These strong sudden needs to urinate are a tell-tale sign that the body is not working properly. Urinary incontinence does not often bring patients into my office, but we have had good results with our chiropractic and alternative medicine treatment. For the men and women who are experiencing this problem, let’s look at the anatomy…
The bladder is an organ like the heart, liver or spleen. It is made up of very specialized tissue that holds waste fluid from the kidneys. The bladder fills like a balloon and expels the fluid with the help of the detrusor muscle. The signal to control this muscle runs from the brain to the organ through the autonomic (think automatic) nervous system. There are two divisions of this nerve system, the sympathetic and parasympathetic.
From a structural standpoint, these nerves have a common route that they take from the brain to the bladder. The sympathetic nerves, which cause the bladder to relax and hold fluid, run down the spinal cord to the upper lumbar (lower back) region. They exit out the L1 and L2 levels and connect to the bladder. The parasympathetics, which squeeze the bladder to urinate, run further down the spinal cord and exit at the sacrum, the bone in the center of your pelvis.
Chiropractic can help by clarifying the signal from the brain to the bladder. If the vertebrae are twisted, these nerves get pinched and the signal is degraded. A specific chiropractic adjustment will align the vertebra and take pressure off these nerves.
The next step to provide pelvic floor strengthening exercises to support this correction. The body responds more favorably to muscle strengthening when it is in alignment.
The third piece to the puzzle is providing the right nutrients to ensure the tissues heal properly. Our alternative medicine program utilizes the best dietary supplements on the market to ensure the nerves calm down and tissues start to heal.
If you are experiencing bladder and urinary incontinence issues and are looking for a natural treatment, please call me at (304) 933-9355 to set up a consultation to see if Enliven Chiropractic can help.

Does Eating Organic Really Make A Difference?
Organic farming requires less chemicals but does it translate to improved health? Which foods have the highest level of toxicity?
There was a time when only the most dedicated health nuts sought out hard-to-find organic foods, made without pesticides, chemicals or other toxic substances. At first it seemed extreme, but these days every supermarket has an organic section, and whole stores are stocked with completely natural options. Is it a rip-off, or does it make a difference?
The Raw Food News reported that organic foods now represent 5% of the total food market, almost forty billion in sales, and that 78% of that food is purchased at conventional supermarkets. So, it seems that many people have already decided to buy into the concept of organic eating. Are they over-reacting, or is there scientific data that shows that organic food is better for you?
In a 2014 study conducted at Newcastle University, it was discovered that organic farming required less chemical pesticides because the foods had a naturally high level of anti-oxidants, which innately protected the foods. The introduction of chemical agents reduced the plant’s natural ability to protect itself, which makes sense, but now this research project shows that the science indicates that it is true.
The Swedish Environmental Research Institute studied a family who did not eat organic food to track the presence of the chemicals in the foods that remained in their bodies – they discovered evidence that the family had residues of insecticides, fungicides and other poisons in their bodies. Then, they changed their diet to all organic, and in only two weeks all traces of the toxins were gone.
Could it really work that quickly? The testing on the bodies of this family was conclusive, at least in this case. Will it work for you? Just think about the common sense – if you’re putting in bad stuff, some of it will stick, and if you stop putting in the bad stuff, there’s nothing to stick and your body can work on cleaning up instead. It seems logical enough – and amazingly, the prices on organic foods have come down so it’s about the same or just a little more, well worth the difference if you want to avoid poisoning yourself and your family.
The chemicals often found can cause horrible health conditions over time, like cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, autism, and disruption of your brain and nerve system, reproductive organs and even your breathing.
What are some of the reasonably priced foods you can start to replace with organic brands? Some of the worst offenders are corn and wheat products, so you can start by asking your grocer for organic corn, bread and pasta. They taste the same or better, cost only a little more, and you’d be doing a tremendous favor for your family.
Organic potatoes are another important food staple that is priced about the same but offers a better quality of nutrition. Choosing organic carrots, celery, apples and grapes will also make a big difference in the toxicity of the foods you eat.
These foods all offer the same or an even better eating experience, but without the nasty stuff in your diet, which can potentially make you sick over years of taking it in – and if you spend the same years eating cleaner food, the logic is unmistakable, your body will be cleaner and have less toxicity, and a better chance for good health and better quality of life into an older age.
Science points towards it, and common sense backs it up – eat organic, eat clean, and safeguard your health and the health of your family.

Car accidents are a leading cause of whiplash injuries, resulting in muscle tears, sprains, ligament damage and chronic neck pain, Enliven Chiropractic is set up to find, document and treat these injuries. Even low speed collisions can cause significant damage.
We are currently accepting a limited number of auto accident / personal injury patients. If you or someone you know was recently injured in a auto accident, please contact us to a patient acceptance interview.
"Out of nowhere, this car smashed into me"
Imagine sitting at Joyce Street exit stoplight in Clarksburg enjoying your favorite song. Relaxed and feeling the spring sun on your face. Then out of nowhere you hear squealing tires and then feel a booming jolt forward. Your car rattles and then your chin smacks your chest and then is thrown back into the headrest in less time than it takes to blink.
Whiplash Results
In whiplash, the neck straightens from its normal curvature. This change results in the joints wearing out faster.
Car accidents like this one are way too common and can lead to long term injuries even if there is not an immediate onset of pain. Whiplash causes tears in the muscles and ligaments. Often times, other structures including nerves, discs and bones are also injured. Left untreated, many of these injuries lead to long term chronic pain and underlying damage. Even low speed collisions can cause significant damage.
Document and Treat Your Whiplash at Enliven
Enliven Chiropractic is set up to find, document and treat these injuries. Our state of the art clinic boast a J-tech system and digital x-ray ensures proper documentation and the most up to date collection of chiropractic and physiotherapy tools for your treatment. Our goal is to get you healthy as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
Dr. Leonette is currently accepting a limited number of patients that were injured in auto accidents. American Diet vs. Clinical Nutrition
Can eating processed meat lead to HEALTH? Read on to find out.
Can eating processed meat lead to HEALTH? The quick and easy answer is NO. I can't recommend anyone eating a hot dog, even organic vegan kosher tofu dogs. Think of it this way, if you ate hot dogs for a year straight, your arm, heart and liver would be made of liquefied meat. If you need a little more convincing, check out the video on how they are made.
Natural nutrition is important. Our bodies break food down into simple building blocks such as amino acids and glucose that are then used to repair, rebuild and replace existing tissue. The good nutrients are absorbed and the extra chemicals are either sequestered (stored in fat) or processed by the liver--this contributes to excess stress.
Check out this list of ingredients to see whats becoming your new body (be sure to read about the pork!).
- Mechanically separated turkey
- Pork obtained by "advanced meat recovery (AMM) machinery" that separates the edibles from the inedibles .
- Water: Hot dogs must be less than 10 percent water, according to the USDA.
- Corn syrup: This common food ingredient—which is made differently from high-fructose corn syrup and has not been linked to the same health concerns—is often used to add texture and sweetness.
- Beef
- Salt: hot dogs contain about 20 percent (480 milligrams) of the recommended daily allotment.
- Potassium lactate: a common meat preservative because of its properties as an antimicrobial, capable of killing off harmful bacteria.
- Sodium phosphates: Any of three sodium salt of phosphoric acids that can be used as a food preservative or to add texture.
- Flavorings: Under current U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines, most combinations of flavoring agents are okay to just be listed as "flavor" rather spelled out individually.
- Beef stock: Meat stocks are usually made by boiling water with pieces of muscle, bones, joints, connective tissue and other parts of the carcass.
- Sodium diacetate: A combination of sodium acetate and acetic acid, it helps to fight fungus and bacterial growth and is often used as an artificial flavor for salt and vinegar chips—and in the sodium acetate form, it’s found in instant hand warmers.
- Sodium erythorbate: A sodium salt of erythorbic acid, it has replaced the use of sulfites in many foods and serves as a preservative and to help keep meat-based products pink. Some people report side effects, including dizziness, gastrointestinal issues, headaches and, if consumed in large quantities, kidney stones.
- Maltodextrin is a filler/thickening agent made from cooked starch.
Sodium nitrate: This common preservative helps meats retain their color and also keep foodborne illnesses, such as botulism, to a minimum. Animal studies have linked sodium nitrates to an increased risk of cancer. It’s also frequently found in fertilizers and, yes, fireworks.
Extractives of paprika: An oil-based extract from the paprika plant, it can give processed food color and increase shelf life.

Fix Your Posture to Reduce Neck Pain
Fix your posture to reduce your neck pain. Improve the position of your internal support structure and re-balance the muscles to alleviate neck pain. Enliven Chiropractic has the tools and techniques to improve your posture and reduce your neck issues.
Fixing your posture may be the key to reducing your neck pain.
The neck is much more important than a structure to hold up the head. The major structures of the neck are the muscles, vertebra (bones), arteries and nervous system (brain stem and spinal cord).
Neck pain often times comes from the muscles working overtime to keep the head from sliding forward. Bad posture, forward weight distribution, loss of a normal neck curve causes the muscles to tighten up in order to prevent more serious injury. Most of these conditions are rooted in a misaligned vertebra. Gently placing these bones back into their proper place helps to correct the overall neck position and leads to less spasm.
Many of our patients experience relief from chronic neck tightness soon after their fist correction and obtain lasting results after completing a treatment program. If you are interested in improving neck spasm and neck pain, let Enliven Chiropractic help. We will find and treat the source to get you back to being healthy. Call us at (304) 933-9355 to schedule a free consultation.

Natural Treatment for Anxiety & Depression Without Drugs
Research has shown there is a natural treatment for anxiety and depression. The techniques used at Enliven Chiropractic are shown to help without the use of drugs.
Upper cervical chiropractic has been shown to be effective in treating anxiety and depression. A June 2013 research article in Journal of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research, documents evidence the upper cervical chiropractic (like the Atlas Orthogonal technique that is performed at Enliven Chiropractic) may be effective as a drug less alternative. The study examined patients with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression and the presence of upper cervical subluxation (misalignment of the first vertebra in the neck). Individuals that completed the study expressed satisfaction with the outcome and that they would recommend similar care to others with anxiety or depression. Participants also reported decrease in muscle tension and pain and increase in mental clarity and physical energy.
If you have anxiety or depression and are searching for an alternative treatment without drugs or a supportive treatment with your current medications, please call me at (304) 933-9355.

The 5 (non) Secrets to Health
Is there a formula to better health that we can use as a template to create less pain and suffering and more health and wellness? Read on to find out.
Is there a formula to better health that we can use as a template to create less pain and suffering and more health and wellness?
Most people would admit that they could be doing more to help themselves to be at their best – often, people just don’t know what to do to increase their chances at good health and peak performance.
Experts agree that there are five areas which contribute to a better quality of life, and if you put all five to work for you, you can be one of those who seem to enjoy an insurance policy against disease and illness, and feel good the lion’s share of the time.
1. Eat Well
Our diets are usually too heavy in sugar and processed foods, and not rich enough in live natural foods like fruits and vegetables. We all have a slightly different body, but all of us need less poison in our blood and more nutrition. Learn to eat properly, and when necessary, supplement with natural substances that are harder to get in the foods we eat.
Whether you get them through foods or through supplements, there are five essentials you must find a way to include in your daily intake. You need vitamins and minerals for regular body function. You need fats or oils for healthy skin and good nerve system function. You need greens to keep the acid/alkaline balance in your body, to reduce inflammation, and you need a probiotic to keep your body eliminating toxins effectively.
Habits like these will reward you with a better body chemistry and better health overall.
2. Reduce your stress
Easing your mind and body by not taking problems so seriously and by building yourself up with a positive outlook is a good start. The way you communicate to yourself plays a major role in your stress levels – be as objective as possible, not making things more painful in your mind than they have to be, and also not ignoring or overlooking circumstances that need attention.
From there, you can use practices like yoga, meditation, exercise or prayer to reset yourself and avoid the negative impact of stress. It’s an ongoing commitment, but one that pays off in developing a positive mental attitude.
3. Sleep soundly and enough
Animals sleep up to 70% of their day – for humans, it’s often 25% or less. This is usually because we are over-programmed, or think we are, and sleep is one of the first corners we cut, not realizing the detrimental effect it can have. Establish a sleep rhythm where you go to bed and wake up at the same times each day, and then evaluate if you are getting enough sleep once you have done so. Some people even like to take a nap during the day – experiment to see what works for you.
If your sleep equipment is old, worn or insufficient, replace it with a better bed – choose a mattress with the right firmness for your taste. Remember, you’re going to spend a significant amount of time in your bed – don’t skimp, invest in good quality and it will reward you in comfort and durability.
4. Move your body
If you don’t use it, you may lose it, so plan to walk, swim, stretch, or some other physical activity at least a few times each week. Besides eliminating stress, it gets your circulation going, strengthens your muscles, and it’s fun, too.
Each individual’s need for exercise varies, but most experts agree that at least three thirty-minute sessions weekly is a good start. Adapt your exercise schedule to your needs and your tolerance, pushing just hard enough but not too hard.
5. Maintain your body
Commit to doing good things for yourself and avoiding bad things. You only get one body – if you wear it out, where are you going to live?
Develop a team of health and wellness professionals who can advise you on these and other important lifestyle decisions. Pick doctors and health advisors who are consistent with your views and beliefs on health and wellness.

These 5 Basic Actions Take You to Vibrant Good Health
Ask a group of people where they hold their stress, and you’ll get a variety of answers. Some carry it in their stomach, some in their head, some in their neck and shoulders, and some in their low back. Ask them how they deal with stress and you're likely to get the same variety of answers. We have compiled a list of five easy action steps to assist you in managing daily stress and lead you to vibrant good health.
There are five basic action steps you can take to encourage glowing, vibrant good health. These five keys to vitality are simple, easy to implement, and cost very little to apply. Let’s look at each of these health habits and see what it would take to improve the quality of our lives.
The first key is proper breathing – air is free, but many of us don’t yet capitalize on one of our most important nutrients, oxygen. Air is needed for all aspects of body function, yet most of us could benefit from adding a few simple breathing exercises to our daily routine.
Try this – breathe in deeply for a count of three, and hold it for a count of twelve. Then, release the breath to a count of six. This style of breathing rejuvenates your metabolism, and feels great. Do ten of those every morning, and you’ll go a long way toward refreshing your cells with their most essential nourishment.
Your second key is food and water – in addition to the gaseous fuel breathing provides, you need solid and liquid fuel as well. Eat a blend of wholesome foods, balancing proteins, fats and carbohydrates, and listen to your body to tell you the best proportions, and when during the day each suits you best. Drink a lot of water – at least half an ounce for every pound of body weight. Your metabolism requires it.
Your third key is sleep – at least seven to eight hours each night. Make your sleeping space as dark and as quiet as possible. Choose a bed and pillows with the right firmness and shape to sleep comfortably on your back or side. And if you miss sleep for some reason, make it up as soon as possible. Your brain maintains itself during sleep – do your best not to cut corners here.
Your fourth key is movement. This can be vigorous exercise, like running, swimming, or sports, or it can be more subtle, like yoga, t’ai chi, stretching or walking, but the purpose is to get your body into motion. This improves your blood circulation and keeps your muscles fit and functional. If you don’t use it, you could lose it, so get moving and you’ll feel better and look better.
The fifth key is to invest in body maintenance, both in discovering the best strategies for you to establish as lifestyle routines, and building a team of wellness professionals to advise you and help you pursue the best health possible. Nutritionists, body workers, personal trainers, yoga and martial arts instructors, life coaches and of course doctors of chiropractic can each play a significant role in helping you live your best quality of life. Keeping your brain fit with meditation or energy balancing also keeps your mind-body connection operating at peak efficiency.
So how can you sculpt this information into a game plan for vitality? Start with the shape of your day – if you’re aiming for seven hours of sleep, and you have to arise at 7 AM, then you know you have to be in bed by midnight. If you weigh 160 pounds, you need about ten eight-ounce glasses of water every day – that’s two in the morning, two in the evening, and two with each meal, for example. If you need to get started with an exercise program, start with three thirty-minute sessions each week, walking, stretching or some other low impact activity until you get used to the stresses of repetitive movement. Pick some aspect of this five-point plan and build yourself up in that area before you move on to others.
Use Dr. Leonette as an adviser in building your wellness team – he can provide suggestions about lifestyle choices and other professionals you could consult.
If you’re really serious about living with optimal vitality, these few simple habits can make all the difference for you – try it and see for yourself!
Fight Obesity by Feeding Your Kids this One Supplement
The Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics has published significant research linking deficiency of a vitamin to childhood obesity. Dr. Leonette recommends supplementing your children with this supplement to ensure their optimal health.
The Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics has published significant research linking low Vitamin D levels with obesity in children. Vitamin D is more of a hormone than a true vitamin. The Mayo Clinic states that Vitamin D has a significant effect on energy levels, absorption of calcium, building strong bones, lowering high blood pressure, preventing cancer.
The source is as important as having the right level. Vitamin D is fat soluble, so it does build up in your system. Too much and you end up toxic, too little and a whole host of symptoms and disease states.
Lets look at the sources:
- Sunlight - this is the most optimal. However, West Virginia is a poor location for Vitamin D exposure due to high level of overcast skies and geographical position. At the 39th latitude, we are far north of the optimal southern regions for sunlight exposure in winter months, a major source of Vitamin D. In summer months, 5-15 minutes of sun exposure to arms and legs is enough to meet the body's requirements.
- Milk - A dose of 2 IU (International Units) per cup is minimal. With all the negative health effects of dairy, I would be hesitant to make any recommendation to drink milk as your source of Vitamin D.
- Supplements - Two things have to be correct with this. The dose and the source. Dose is determined from blood work. We recommend that you are 40-60 range. Most patient results are in the low 30's. The doctor determines the dose, frequency and duration to improve your overall Vitamin D levels.
Source - I am extraordinarily picky about the source of Vitamin D supplementation. With many of the store brands found to be adulterated, I only recommend brands that I have evaluated from a compliance standpoint.
At Enliven Chiropractic, we offer a high quality Vitamin D supplement and can order lab test if very low levels are suspected. Call me and I'll be happy to provide you with our recommended product lines.

How is Your Brain Working?
Did you know that the vertebral artery makes four 90 degree turns around the C1 vertebra (Atlas) before entering the skull? Wouldn't you like confirmation that this critical bone is in its proper alignment?
Did you know that the vertebral artery makes four 90 degree turns around the C1 vertebra (Atlas) before entering the skull? It is responsible for providing blood supply to the brainstem and 11 of the 12 cranial nerves. Reduction of the blood supply can lead to drooping eye lids, trigeminal neuralgia, face pain and other head symptoms.
If a vertebral subluxation causing reduced blood supply is suspect, care should be taken to properly identify and correct the position of the C1 vertebra to ensure optimal blood flow. Enliven Chiropractic utilizes an advanced chiropractic technique called Atlas Orthogonal to determine the C1 position in three planes and correct the alignment with a gentle percussive force.
Look for a more detailed explanation on vertebral artery compromise and its related symptoms on our website, www.enlivenwv.com, in the next few days.

Are You a Chiropractic Coward?
Ever been told NOT to see a chiropractor? That's the same as me telling you to take Codeine for a headache...
Have you ever wanted to try Chiropractic but hate the thought of having your neck twisted? There are many techniques in the Chiropractic field that work extremely well, but many of us prefer a lighter touch. During my studies, I found that instrument assisted adjusting produces the same, if not superior results to hand adjusting techniques.
Over the last 9+ years, I have studied and practiced a state-of-the-art technique called Atlas Orthogonal, which uses a gentle sound wave to deliver the adjustment. Brain wave balancing adjustments are followed up with a handheld instrument called an Activator.
If you are searching for a gentle approach to chiropractic or have been told by a non-chiropractic physician that you can never be adjusted, call me for a consultation at (304) 933-9355. I've seen thousands of patients, many with cervical (neck) fusions, scoliosis, osteoporosis, MS and other states.
Chiropractic is about improving health, not treating disease. At Enliven, we aim to do that with the least amount of force necessary.

Chiropractors are skilled physicians and must meet rigorous standards to demonstrate their manual adjusting skills. All 'twisting' techniques taught at Chiropractic colleges are within the physiologic limits of the body and have ample evidence to support their therapeutic benefit. While I do not personally utilize these techniques, they do have merit and I recommend that every person seek Chiropractic care to prevent illness and rehabilitate after injury.
Look at My Lab Results | Dr. James Leonette
I had lab work done the late part of last week on Jan 8. After two vials of blood, a urine test and physical assessment, I eagerly awaited the results. I got good news at the very beginning.
I had lab work done the late part of last week on Jan 8. After two vials of blood, a urine test and physical assessment, I eagerly awaited the results. I got good news at the very beginning. Blood pressure 120/64; resting pulse was 50!
I received the test results this morning. Out of the 27 blood tests, I scored beyond perfect. 26 of the tests were within the reference range. One exceeded Quest Diagnostic's limits and I am ecstatic about that one. The test highlighted in orange is for HDL cholesterol. HDL is considered the good cholesterol and helps to remove plaquing on the walls of arteries. The higher the better in this case.
Here's my secret. Eat well and exercise intensely for short periods.
My exercise programming involves cross fit and recreational soccer. The staff at Ronin Fitness on Old Bridgeport Hill is amazing at setting up programs to meet your physical level.
My diet includes a healthy dose of butter, bacon, beef and eggs. However, quality is very important; organic butter, grass fed beef and eggs are mostly from free range chickens. This diet provides a generous amount of cholesterol that powers the brain and is an important building block of hormones. I supported these nutrients by reducing the amount of inflammation causing anti-nutrients in my body, specifically gluten. I am now working on reducing other inflammation causing anti-nutrients oxalates, phylates and lectins.
With laboratory numbers like these, I am assured that chronic inflammation and its related diseases like obesity, diabetes and GERD are staying away. I feel great, move great and want to help others achieve this level of health success.
